I covered the Staten Island Black Heritage Day Parade yesterday and it was amazing! Besides being part of the event, I was also taught some dribbling styles by the one and only Richard Pee Wee Kirkland. Also in attendance were my other good friends Bill "Skyscraper" Willoughby, Joe "The Destroyer" Hammond, Steve Burtt, and Bob McCollough, Sr. who road with me on the Staten Island Ferry to Staten Island. We met Pee Wee on the other side and also met with other Rucker Pro Legends including Sam Worthen.  I also brought my best friend Myles Bland who had a great time also...

Draft Day at Clyde's Wine and Dine!

I had a great experience at Walt Clyde Frazier's Wine and Dine restaurant. When I first saw Frazier my jaw dropped to the floor. Clyde was great, for example when I was about to order my food Clyde went over and asked me what I was ordering and I told him.
One of the positive things that happened was when we hung out with the New York Knicks's Cleanthony Early, Langston Galloway and the Westchester Knicks' Thanasis Antetokounmpo and experiencing the 2015 NBA Draft with them.

Picture
One of the downsides that happened was when we met Tim Hardaway JR. and he told us that he got traded. You will be missed.

He will definitely make the Atlanta Hawks a tougher team to beat and possibly push them further into the playoffs than they did this season. Once a Knick, always a Knick.

Picture
We were able to get pictures with him and his girlfriend, Kylie Bossie also.

Also we shot hoops with Galloway and Cleanthony Early, and when I interviewed Galloway again, it was amazing. If you want to see the interview click the play button below, hope you like and please comment and retweet

Ready to Play the NBA Pick-Up Game?

6/24/2015

Picture
Tomorrow night’s NBA draft is so close I can feel it!!! I am so excited to see who will become the newest NBA players.

Below are my predictions on the 2015 NBA Draft. I took some time to write down how I think each pick will help each team. Unlike my brother, Mike, I see Minnesota’s top pick being Karl Anthony Towns, who can replace the hole left by Kevin Love leaving the team.  And I see the Lakers picking up Jahill Okafor, which will be a big win for LA fans. I also think NY Knick fans like myself will be looking for something big to happen in the draft, whether it is a trade or by picking someone like Emmanuel Mudiay, who I think they will pick.

I hope you enjoy my predictions and comment if you have questions or you agree or disagree on my predictions.

  1. Minnesota Timberwolves: Karl Anthony Towns, Kentucky, because I think the Timberwolves need a big man sense they lost Kevin Love.

  2. Los Angeles Lakers: Jahlil Okafor, Duke, because I think he will totally dominate in that team.

  3. Philadelphia 76ers: D’Angelo Russell, Ohio State, because I think they need a strong point guard that can carry the team.

  4. New York Knicks: Emmanuel Mudiay, Congo, because I think NYK need a tall point guard like him.

  5. Orlando Magic: Willie Cauley Stein, Kentucky, because I think Victor Oladipo can feed him the ball.

  6. Sacramento Kings: Justice Winslow, Duke, because I think they need a solid SG or SF.

  7. Denver Nuggets: Mario Hezonja, Croatia, because I think Ty Lawson and him can be the big two.

  8. Detroit Pistons: Stanley Johnson, Arizona, because I think he will fit in.

  9. Charlotte Hornets: Kristaps Porzingis, Latvia, because I think they need a shooter and a rebounder and he fits right in that spot.

  10. Miami Heat: Devon Booker, Kentucky, because I think they need a Deadeye shooter like him.

  11. Indiana Pacers: Myles Turner, Texas

  12. Utah Jazz: Sam Dekker, Wisconsin

  13. Phoenix Suns: Trey Lyles, Kentucky

  14. Oklahoma City Thunder: Rondae Hollis Jefferson, Arizona

  15. Atlanta Hawks: Cameron Payne, Murray State

  16. Boston Celtics: Bobby Portis, Arkansas

  17. Milwaukee Bucks: Frank Kaminsky, Wisconsin

  18. Houston Rockets: Kelly Oubre, Kansas

  19. Washington Wizards: Montrezl Harrell, Louisville

  20. Toronto Raptors: Justin Anderson, Virginia

  21. Dallas Mavericks: Tyus Jones, Duke

  22. Chicago Bulls: Chris McCullough, Syracuse

  23. Portland Trail Blazers: Delon Wright, Utah

  24. Cleveland Cavaliers: Kevon Looney, UCLA

  25. Memphis Grizzlies: Olivier Hanlan, Boston College

  26. San Antonio Spurs: Jerian Grant, Notre Dame

  27. Los Angeles Lakers: Christian Wood, UNLV

  28. Boston Celtics: R.J. Hunter, Georgia State

  29. Brooklyn Nets: Terry Rozier, Louisville

  30. Golden State Warriors: Dakari Johnson, Kentucky

Picture
And the first round is in. As the Warriors beat the New Orleans Pelicans, which I got right, Golden State will be versing the Memphis Grizzlies who beat Portland. I think that the Golden State Warriors will beat the Memphis Grizzlies in game six. Also the LA Clippers beat San Antonio in game seven, they will be versing the Houston Rockets who beat the Dallas Mavericks in game five. I think that the LA Clippers are going to beat the Houston Rockets in game seven, because of Chris Paul and Blake Griffin. The Atlanta Hawks beat Brooklyn in game six which I got wrong they will be versing the Washington Wizards who beat Toronto which I also got wrong. I think that the Washington Wizards will beat Atlanta in game seven. Last but not least Chicago beat Milwaukee in game six they, will be versing the Cleveland Cavaliers who swept the Boston Celtics and. I think Cleveland will beat Chicago in game five.

Brother vs. Brother: Christian's Playoff Predictions

4/16/2015

Picture
In the East:
(1) Atlanta Hawks vs. (8) Brooklyn Nets:
I think that The Nets will beat The Hawks because I predict that it will go into game 7 and Joe Johnson will hit the game winning three to win by 1. Either way I think Brooklyn’s winning.
(4) Toronto Raptors vs. (5) Washington Wizards:
I feel that Toronto is going to beat the Wizards in game 5 because I feel that DeRozan is going to go off with points and Lowry is going to beast on assist.
(3) Chicago Bulls vs. (6) Milwaukee Bucks:
I predict that the Bulls are going to beat Milwaukee in game 7 because the Bulls players are more experienced.
(2) Cleveland Cavaliers vs. (7) Boston Celtics:
When it comes to Cleveland versus the Boston Celtics, I’ll take the Celtics in six games. I think that the Celtics will dominate because of their new acquisition, Isaiah Thomas. I know the hype will be all around LeBron but I think that Boston is better overall.

Picture
Let's move to the West:
(1) Golden State Warriors vs. (8) New Orleans Pelicans:
I’m going with the Golden State Warriors over the New Orleans Pelicans. I think this series will be a sweep for Golden State because Stephen Curry will go off on the three point line.
(4) Portland Trail Blazers vs. (5) Memphis Grizzlies:
When it comes Portland versus Memphis, I predict Memphis in Game 7. I think this is a pretty close match up but I think Memphis will overtake Portland by a little.
(3) Los Angeles Clippers vs. (6) San Antonio Spurs:
Next, I see LA Clippers being San Antonio in five games because Chris Paul will go off with assists to Blake Griffin and Deandre Jordan.
(2) Houston Rockets vs. (7) Dallas Mavericks:
Then it’s time for Texas versus Texas! I think the Houston Rockets will earn the state’s bragging rights over the Dallas Mavericks. I can see it going to Game 5 because I think James Harding will get 20+ points and Dwight Howard will have a double-double each game.
These are my playoff picks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Comment on what you think about the NBA playoffs. Thanks.

Westchester Knicks Energy Too Much for Iowa

3/12/2015

Doron Lamb had 23 points in the first half. A great performance by Doron. At the end of the half the score was 53 Westchester 52 Iowa. The second half started with Iowa scoring a two point field goal and Westchester scoring a basket and draining two free throws. At the end of the third quarter the score was 79 to 74 Iowa leading. Doron Lamb had 30 at the beginning of the fourth quarter. He was looking to get the record for most points in a Westchester Knicks game. The record is now 40 breaking the 36 by Thanasis Antetokounmpo. In the fourth the Iowa Energy made a push but Ben Strong and his defense on the block helped the Westchester Knicks hold on. Final score:  Westchester Knicks 104 and Iowa Energy 101.

Back To Back – WCKnicks Score 105 Points in Two Consecutive Games

3/8/2015

Although the Westchester Knicks did not win this weekend, there were many positive signs regarding their triangle offense that for an inaugural season points to good things to look forward to in the future.

Thanasis Antetokounmpo (21 and 11) and Ben Strong (13 and 13) each posted a double double in points and rebounds. These numbers were put up against the Atlantic Division Leading Maine Red Claws and the 3rd place Delaware 87ers.

We were afforded the opportunity to interview recently picked up and hometown player JR Inman and asked him questions about his recent debut and also asked questions about his basketball program.

Coach Whitted was also asked questions after the game at the Press Conference after the game.

Last night the Westchester Knicks defeated the Erie Bayhawks 108-102. Markeith Cummings had a strong 4th quarter with 15 points to lead them to the win. Coach Witted really appreciated Markeith Cummings in the game last night, and was glad he could get some big baskets for the Westchester Knicks. Coach Whitted said in the press conference that he liked how Markeith played in the 4th and he also said that Markeith said during the game that he felt good. Why I Want the Knicks to Lose! Feat. Stephen Zimmerman

8/29/2014

Picture
The Knicks are my favorite team. So, why would I want them to lose? Why? Let’s face the truth.  We all know that it is nearly impossible for them to take the Championship or even make the playoffs this year. But if they continue to lose, then they’ll have much better draft picks in the future. And that’s one way to get my ultimate favorite player, Stephen Zimmerman, on my favorite team, the Knicks.

Picture
Stephen Zimmerman will be a top draft pick in 2016. Now, do you understand my strategy? He is an awesome player that could do so much for the Knicks. He’s 7 feet tall and he is an all-around player. He can dunk, he can shoot, he can block, and whatever else you need him to do. And he is a phenomenal guy. I had the chance to interview him at the Big Strick Classic this year and it was a real amazing moment for me.

Picture
And the best moment of the Big Strick Classic for me happened after the USA vs NYC basketball game. Stephen Zimmerman took off his jersey and signed it with a marker and gave it to me and my brother. I couldn’t believe it. It was the best surprise of my life. Thank you Stephen Zimmerman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Radio Experience

5/4/2014

I’ve always wanted to go to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts. I just didn’t know how much I would enjoy it when I got there. Being surrounded by basketball history and also having a chance to dunk on smaller hoops on the first floor was so much fun. I didn’t think my vacation could get any better. But I was wrong. I got to meet sports radio DJ Kyle Belanger, the host of a sports radio show on 1450 AM in Massachusetts. He likes our blog and invited us to come on his show. It was like a dream coming true and me and my brother talked basketball with him and the other DJs on the air.

Picture
It was so much fun and so amazing to be able to be on a live radio show. You can listen to my answers on the MP3 file. When it ended I was disappointed it was over because I had so much fun.

I got a lot of experience throughout the whole radio show. After the radio show we took pictures with Kyle, two of the other DJs that were on the show, the two interns, and the two people that helped with the radio show. THAT WAS THE BEST RADIO SHOW EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Two Rookies that Have Impressed Me This Season!

1/17/2014

I have been watching the NBA season closely and in terms of rookies, there were two specific players that I had kept my eye on and everyday they impress me. Other than Michael Carter-Williams, who I think should be Rookie of the Year, I've seen Victor Oladipo and Cody Zeller stand out to me and I just had to write about them. We'll start with Victor Oladipo.
Picture
Man Victor Oladipo is good. He totally fits well in the magic. I think Victor will be the best shooting guard in the league in about 4 years. He works hard. I think Victor will be the best current Magic player in about 2 years. He is a shooting guard because he is a good shooter averaging 13.7 points per game. He is a solid dunker and can fill up the stat sheet with his 1.5 steals per game. He is a great offensive and defensive player all-around. He is one of the best rookies in the NBA today, for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cody Zeller is totally doing his job. He is taking this job seriously. He is what the Bobcats needed all along. Even now the Bobcats are still doing better they are still not a great team. I think that Kemba Walker and Cody Zeller need to work together. All they really have to do is pass to each other. They’re not doing that so that makes more sense now that they are not a good team. Anyway Cody Zeller graves a decent amount of rebounds. He gets 4.2 rebounds a game. That is an ok amount of rebounds right? Cody Zeller is one of the strongest players in the Bobcats. He is also working on athleticism. He wants to be able to make a three pointer. I think next year the Bobcats would go all the way.
Picture
These two players have shown outstanding work from college into the NBA. I congratulate both of them on completing their dreams of getting to the NBA, and I hope they are one day crowned champions. Thanks for reading, and PLEASE COMMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will Anthony Bennett be as good as he was in college in the NBA?

I think Bennett will not be as good when he was in college because of his stats. He has not been doing well lately this year. Look at the big deference and you will see what is wrong.

Metta World Peace is a Beast!!

11/3/2013

I think Metta World Peace is one of the strongest players in the league. He has improved his defense, hustle, strength, shooting, aggressiveness, and passing. I think he will get defensive player of the year because he stays with his man every time. He should be starting for the Knicks. I hope Mike Woodson sees that. I think the Knicks will win the Championship this year or next year because of Metta World Peace and Carmelo Anthony because Metta and Anthony are
BEASTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Michael Carter-Williams Great 3 GAMES!!! (UPDATED Feat. Nerlens Noel)

I thought Michael Carter-Williams was a bad pickup for the 76ers before.
The 76ers were a bad team until I saw the 76ers play the Heat or should I say
Michael Carter-Williams play the Heat. These are his stats:

All game stats

Heat stats

Seeing Nerlens Noel in college made me wonder how he would do with Michael Carter-Williams in the 76ers. I think Nerlens Noel will be a very great player in the NBA when he comes back from his ACL tear. The 76ers already have a great Center in Spencer Hawes. I think Nerlens Noel will be the starting Center because he is a better rebounder, blocker, stealer, hustler, and he is more aggressive. But Hawes should still be either the 6th man or 7th man. If the 76ers do that they
will probably be one of the best teams in the league. I don’t think that Michael Carter-Williams can handle the team all by himself so when Nerlens Noel comes back he will really help the 76ers a lot. I don’t think the 76ers will win the Championship this year. But in about three years the 76ers will win the Championship because of Michael Carter-Williams and Nerlens Noel. Nerlens and
Michael will be all-stars. They remind me of John Stockton and Karl Malone because of their great talent.

Big Strick Fan Favorite: Stephen Zimmerman

8/10/2013

Picture
There were so many incredible basketball players at the Big Strick Classic last night, it is hard to pick just one favorite but I’ll try. I guess I would pick Stephen Zimmerman because he had better shooting than power forward or center in the game last night.

When I got to meet him I could not believe how tall he really is!! He was a really nice player and a good guy. I think he is a great shooter. I was so happy he took the time to speak with me and take a picture of me. That is how kind he was. I can definitely see him being one of the best centers in the NBA someday. I think he will also be a fan favorite!!

Please comment and let me know your thoughts!

What will happen Next Season for the Knicks?

6/26/2013

Picture
Will the Knicks trade Felton? If they do they should get back
Randolph from the Grizzlies because he would block people and rebound. If the
Knicks trade Shumpert they should get back Wilson Chandler from the Denver
Nuggets because he would drain jump shots. If the Knicks trade Tyson Chandler
they should get back Michael Kidd Gilchrist because he could Rebound, shoot,
block, and drive. If I am right the Knicks are an all-star team. The Knicks
would be1st in the east side. They will win the Playoffs, the title and they
will defend their title next season. GO KNiCKS  GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rockets Looking at Two of the Greatest Players in the NBA

6/10/2013

Picture
The Rockets are looking to get either Dwight Howard or Chris Paul. I think the
Rockets should get Chris Paul because Chris Paul is a better choice. Why, you ask? The reason is because he is better at assists, points, and steals. The only two things that Dwight Howard is better at are rebounds and blocks. If the Rockets get Chris Paul they have a very good chance of beating the Heat and winning the NBA
championship but if they do not get Chris Paul and Dwight Howard then I think that they do not have a chance of beating the Heat and they have a very bad chance of winning the NBA championship. Chris Paul is so good the Rockets may win two NBA championships. Rockets all the way!
