Oakley is Smart.

Charles Oakley makes some good points. Stat and Melo.  The only thing Stat is good at is dunking, passing and corner shots when he finds his spot. Melo doesn’t give the ball to him at the right spot. When they pass to Melo, you know he is shooting. Stat is passing or shooting or he turns the ball over. Or he gets blocked. Stat and Melo need to get Chandler involved in the game. They just hog it with Melo. Melo is a great player, he is like Bernard King and he always wanted to be like Bernard King. Stat needs to pick up his game and shoot more. He goes down the floor and it gets stolen, or sometimes he dunks it. I like both Stat and Melo and Chandler…and JR Smith. I want the Knicks to win the Championship.

I totally agree with trying to get Chandler involved more in the offense. When Jeremy Lin was doing his thing, Chandler was getting more touches on pick and rolls which spread the defense and made it more difficult for opposing teams to double up on individual players. Oakley is right and I wish that he could be involved with the Knicks organization as an assistant coach. I posted this on Mike's Blog also.
If everyone can buy into that type of system the Knicks can really go places next season. Let's see what Jason Kidd can bring to the table. Also, it should be interesting having Raymond Felton back considering Amar'e was having his MVP season during Felton's time with the Knicks until he got traded.
I can't wait for the season to begin! I'll keep checking in on Christian's Corner for your thoughts and theories!

I agree with you. I think Oakley is smart and that he was trying to help the current Knicks team out by giving him the insight of his experience. If Stat and Melo are also smart, they will take Oakley's comments under consideration. Go Knicks!

You're right Oakley is smart! Do you think that if he played in the NBA today would he be a good fit for the NBA? And also do you think that if Oakley played today would he be maybe the best power forward in the 2012 NBA. Thanks for writing this entertaining post!

Absolutely they are not playing as a team - I agree there needs to be a trade or they better get their act together!
