Linsanity Over?

One Knicks opportunity is lost almost as quick as it was found. Jeremy Lin, the sophomore star of the New York Knickerbockers, took the Big Apple by storm for 25 games in February. I cannot imagine how the Knicks would just let him go after such an amazing run that he had scoring 38 on Kobe, hitting the game winner in Toronto, and dunking it on the Wizards. The Houston Rockets offered Lin a 3YR/$25.00M contract, with the last year of his contract earning 14.8M out of the 25M. At first I thought to let him go, but then I looked back at some of the highlights with Lin doing incredible moves around people, and then I thought that he was definitely worth it. According to James Dolan, owner of the Knicks, he truly was not enough.
Jeremy Lin said he was 85% ready to play in the playoffs, but the coaches and staff told him to relax and not play. I could not believe what Dolan had done. They should definitely fire him and hire a new owner. Any owner has more experience than Dolan. Even though we acquired Raymond Felton, Jason Kidd, Marcus Camby, and Kurt Thomas, I still think that Lin is more important than them. Anyway, we lost the players we wanted to get rid of like Jared Jeffries, Toney Douglas, Josh Harrellson, and Jerome Jordan. I think that Lin will do extremely well with Houston, and maybe even give the Rockets a 7 or 8 seed in the playoffs. Also, the situation with Brooklyn acquiring Joe Johnson, for a bunch of nobody's to help out D-Will. Did we just let go of the superstar that could help Carmelo?
What do you think on these comments?                       J-Lin17GO New York!!!!

In my opinion, Lin can someday become one of the greatest players that ever lived. Anyway, thanks for posting!

I think the knicks should have kept Lin and traded him down the road for valuable pieces.
To just let him walk and not receive anything in return was idiotic of the Knicks Brass. Lin is a very good player, who received an amazing contract for the 25 games he played and what the Rockets think he will become. I can't wait to see how the rest of this story develop. Is Lin going to come in the garden and drop 50 on the Knicks? What's the next chapter in this insanity! Oh Go Lakers!!!

Yes, I think that Lin is going to come to MSG and drop 50 on the Knicks. His story will definitely live on for a long time when he did the crazy stuff with New York. Man, I can't believe that we just let him go like that, we should at least get somebody back! Thanks for posting!

Great article! I agree with most of your points. I am not sure if Lin is the best thing long term for the Knicks. Hopefully the Knicks will show us why the got ride of Lin by picking up an amazing player by the February deadline. Lin is a solid player but I cannot say he is worth $25M nor do I think he's worth more than Chandler in 3 years. Had the Knicks signed Lin, Lin would have been paid more than Chandler in 3 years and I think that would have caused more friction internally. Hopefully the Knicks will make me proud this season under their new coach. Last season we had a bad coach and a worst owner. If coach has the team play his game then the Knicks should be fine without Lin. Nonetheless we should have signed Lin before the end of his contract We probably could have gotten him for $5M instead. Either way good article and Let's go Knicks!

A way to look at it is that we traded Lin and Fields for Camby, Kidd, Felton and Kurt Thomas. Would you consider that a good trade

Yeah, we should have kept Lin and make him a big option on the Knicks or we could have just traded him for another good player. Instead, we got NOTHING!!! Anyway, thanks for posting!

I do not consider that a good trade because Lin is much faster than Felton and Camby, Kidd, and Kurt Thomas are old and worn down. Lin and Fields have a lot of time to develop and become great players. Both Lin and Fields are now in their 3rd year in the NBA and are both very explosive at the rim. We should have matched Lin's offer and none of this stuff would have ever happened. I can't believe we did that!

Thanks Uncle Eric, you really think the Knicks will go far this year without Lin? I think they can make the 2nd Round

Well, maybe the other members of the team can compensate. Only time will tell. Keep track of it and write about it with your talent for writing.

Hey I remember the days of Willis Reed, Earl the Pearl, and Walt Frazier. The Knicks have a great history. Bring the glory days back!!! It can happen...

Knicks will lose tonight if ray Felton continues to try to outdo Lin. Lin should be a Knick.
