When I talk about the ’92 Dream Team, I also think about the USA team today. Sometimes I even think about having the best players from ’92 and ’12 and putting them together to make an all-time USA Team. Today, that is what I will be talking about. Let’s get this started! Chris Mullin and Christian Laettener are out of there following with Tyson Chandler and James Harden. Scottie Pippen and Russell Westbrook are out as well. Jordan, Magic, Bird, LeBron, and Kobe are in that team. D-Will shouldn’t be in there at all. Kevin Love and Andre Igoudala are not in there. John Stockton and Charles Barkley are definitely in it. Cp3 and Carmelo are in. Anthony Davis is no way no how going to be in this team. I have to make a choice to eliminate someone and Ewing is a no go for me. Also, Kevin Durant is, as well. The Admiral, Clyde “The Glide” Drexler, and Karl Malone finish out the remaining spots. So, my final all-time USA Dream Team roster is: Michael Jordan, Earvin ”Magic” Johnson, Larry Bird, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, John Stockton, Charles Barkley, Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony, David Robinson, Clyde “The Glide” Drexler, and Karl Malone. Would you have put different players in? Comment and tell me what I could have done.

Now it's a given that Jordan, Magic and Bird be selected from that group but although I was not a fan of Scottie Pippen, I did respect his game so I would have added him into that group and moved probably Carmelo Anthony (although there is an argument for Carmelo's clutch gene). The reasoning behind that decision would be Pippen's defense winning out.

I see your point on Pippen over Carmelo, but I think that Carmelo's a bit better because of his clutch factor. I also understand Pippen wins on defense versus Melo, so it was tough making a choice however I had to go with Carmelo because of his quickness at the basket and his clutch factor. I also think that a lot of people give Pippen too much credit, he only averaged 16.8 PPG for his career and Carmelo averaged 24.7 PPG for his career. I see what you are saying though. Anyway, thanks for posting.

The 1992 team had the stuff that dreams are made of -- I wouldn't change a thing! Sorry but this year's team can't compare...just saying.

Mike, to be honest with you nobody can tell you that you're wrong for the players you picked for two simple reasons....1.All of them are all stars so at that point its just a matter of picking your weapons and 2.As much as people say that sports are facts thats only half true. Yes, there are numbers to show facts but its also a matter of an opinion so you cant be wrong with whatever you picked. I myself would have left the 1992 Dream Team pretty much just the way it was but that doesnt mean that I'm bashing the guys of today but my favorite player of all time is Patrick Ewing so thats just me.

Having remembered the '92 Dream Team I was impressed that after the egos were set aside they all came together as THE BEST team. With that said, I do agree with some of your picks, sure Kobe, Lebron and Carmelo would be my choice as well but I think Ewing and Pippin need to be on it as well and take off Drexler & Chris Paul.

I see where you are going with Pippen and Ewing, but you can very easily switch them back with Clyde and CP3. I understand what you are saying by replacing them with a good offensive jump shooter and great defensive forward, and I am kind of going back and forth on that, so thanks for posting! And I don't think MJ is the greatest player of all time, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is the greatest because he is the NBA all-time scoring leader. Anyway, thanks for giving your opinion on who should stay and who should be replaced. Thanks for posting!

I like your dream team but I think Pippen has to be on there for his defense. To me Chris Paul is a great NBA player but has not proved to me he belongs amongs the legends. I can't remember a playoff series his team won prior to last season. As far as the Olympics go, Chris Paul is not more important then say Scottie Pippen. Melo belongs on that team. Melo has been the most consistent player on the olympic teams sense 2003.

That is a good argument for Carmelo. Good points Wadler!
