RECAP: Knicks Live up to Expectations!

The New York Knicks’ first two games in the 2012-13 NBA season made me want to watch more of it. It was beautiful. I think that Mike Woodson is taking this Knick team to a whole new level. It makes me feel excited to watch it.
Anyway, to the first game the New York Knicks played an enormous rivalry for them the Miami Heat and what made it even more special was that it was at the Garden. With the Knicks having an older team I wondered how they would do against LeBron, Wade, Bosh, and the newcomer to the Heat Ray Allen. The Knicks played phenomenal against the Heat. Carmelo was hitting shot after shot after shot. Hitting 3 pointers, driving for and 1s, and getting the easy two points off layups and jump shots. Overall, Carmelo ended up with a nice amount of 30 points and 10 rebounds. Also, veteran Jason Kidd played amazing as well becoming the third most all time in 3 pointers made right behind Ray Allen and Reggie Miller.
Two more people I have to mention are Raymond Felton who did some incredible shots while beating his man and swooping in for a reverse layup and dishing out 9 assists and the other person is Rasheed Wallace who won a championship with the Detroit Pistons in 2004. He made a three pointer to get the crowd on its feet, but we did not need that. We defeated the Heat 104-84.
On to the next game who was against the Philadelphia 76ers. Another phenomenal game for the New York Knicks!! Carmelo was the leader again hitting the three ball, hitting jump shots and layups, getting and 1s, and hustling for loose balls and doing the dirty work. This game he ended up with 27 points and 2 crazy rejections. Kidd was again very good and being very wise and smart about things. One of those things is that on one play there was 5 seconds left in the 2nd quarter and he stole the ball and as soon as he caught the basketball he flinged a laser pass to Carmelo for an easy layup to finish the half. He ended up with 12 points, 6 assists and 3 steals throughout the game against the Sixers. Another thing is that shoot first player J.R. Smith was really feeling it today. He was making shot after shot, draining three after three, I could not believe how hot he was. He ended up with a nice 20 points and shooting over 50 percent from the field.
Rasheed played again getting a nice hook shot to fall and getting 1 out of 2 free throws. He also got a steal, 2 rebounds, and a backwards assist to Pablo Prigioni for the easy deuce. We won again 100-84. I am really glad that the Knicks are starting their season off like this. I cannot wait to see if more of this will happen in the future. For now, I am very impressed by the Knicks wise game play and I hope to see more of the same throughout the whole year.
Please comment!! GO KNICKS!!!!

I'm not looking forward to their first loss. If it happens against a bad team then it will look bad but if it becomes a loss against an elite team then it will look like we have a lot of work to do. I am getting the feeling that we are looking like an elite Team.

@DaddyMan, Yeah I have a feeling that the Knicks are going to lose really badly when they get their first loss. You are right, if we lose to an elite team, everyone will say we need to improve more and stuff like that and I really hope that the Knicks get a high seed in the playoffs this year. I wonder what people will say then. I agree that the Knicks are an elite team as well. Anyway, thanks for posting!
